Ipong is known to be active as a painter, graphic artist, illustrator, curator and book designer, born in Yogyakarta, 1955. Completed his art studies at the Department of Painting, ASRI School of Fine Arts (now the Indonesian Art Institute ISI) Yogyakarta, 1981. Then he was invited as guest artist works on graphic art at Konsthogskolan (Royal University) in Stockholm, Sweden, doing lithography, etching, dry point, carborundum, woodcut, and aquatint. At this art school, he had a chance to exhibit graphic arts with graphic artists and several art lecturers (1996). Since 1975 until now, he has participated in joint exhibitions in several cities and countries, including in Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Jakarta, Bali, Semarang, Jambi, France, and Sweden.
