Fu Shuai is a Tianjin-based artist who was born in 1985 in Taiyuan Shanxi Province, China. Fu Shuai graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art and Master of Fine Art from the Free Painting Department of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 2008 and 2011 respectively. Using the technique of Chinese stone rubbing, Fu Shuai creates outstanding works which allow the viewers to step into the optical trap he constructed. 

Additionally, his technique brings unique perceptions of dimensionality and reality. Started his experience in the lens of digital technology, Fu Shuai began to challenge himself by examining the relationship between real spaces and virtual spaces. The idea of it came when he was playing a game, and a bug distorted the virtual space. As he felt disconnected from reality, he decided to create works that are products of the realisation of his examination.
